Nominations for the First “Bucks County Teacher of the Year” Award are Now Open
/Great teachers are getting some extra special attention in Bucks County this year as the Bucks First Federal Credit Union (Bucks First FCU) teams up with the Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22 to present an award to outstanding teachers. Bucks First FCU has served the Bucks county school district for more than 75 years, and are offering the Bucks County Teacher of the Year Award to one of the selected nominees. Deadline for nominations is January 15, 2013.
The award is targeted to exemplary educators that are current Bucks County School District teachers, from any levels K through 12. Anyone in the community (parents, townspeople, etc.) can nominate a teacher that they feel supports student welfare and youth empowerment, as well as making a difference through their dedication and commitment to the teaching profession.
Bucks First FCU’s business development specialist, Gary Balakoff, describes how it is the first time that this award is to be given. He expresses how it’s only right that Bucks First FCU pairs with the Intermediate Unit in order to show appreciation to the dedication and devotion the Bucks County teachers give to the children of their schools.
There are two ways you can nominate a teacher. You can either do it online atwww.bucksfirstfcu.org or manually by downloading an application. Don’t forget to include the reason why you’re nominating the person for the award. Your reasons should include all evidence of how this teacher proves to be a dedicated educator and how he/she deserves to be called the Bucks County Teacher of the Year.
Balakoff continues by explaining that the nominees will be examined by Bucks First FCU employees and management, and also by the members of the board of directors. The top three applications will be invited to the company’s annual meeting where the Bucks County Teacher of the Year will finally be named.
The winner receives a generous sum of $1,000 and a commemorative plaque. The honoree’s school will even be conferred a donation of $1,000. The other two finalists will not leave empty handed, as they will get a special VisaGift Card worth $200.
